25/100 — Running in the dark and ready to be old

Then I started dating
Everyone was irritating
Gotta find somebody quick

What a nice day to discover Tom Rosenthal’s Phone Battery Dead, a fun little song about trying to find love after a breakup. It’s a day after I read part three of Grace McCleen’s excellent (and devastating) essay series on online dating, and a day after my first Tinder date.

It went okay. There’s probably not going to be a second. But I don’t think I’ll ever be a serial dater. I want to date around as little as possible and find something to put effort into, so even this app dating, emotionally, is never really ‘casual’ for me. (I don’t know why I have to have this realisation anew every single time.)

Aw man. Modern love, you guys.

The song is pretty great though.
